Fused Calcium Aluminate

Fused calcium aluminate, also known as pre-melting refining slag or pre-melting aluminium-calcium slag, has been widely used in foreign countries, such as Korea, Japan, Europe and the United States and other developed countries. Fused calcium aluminate has uniform chemical composition, low melting point and fast melting speed, which can shorten the smelting time; it does not contain fluorine and corrode lining and ladle and has compact structure. Also, it does not absorb water, and is convenient for storage and storage. Owing to its stable phase and fast slagging, it can reduce dust pollution in iron and steel works and comprehensively stabilize the refining process. It does not contain impurities such as hydrogen, nitrogen and carbon, which is conducive to improving the quality of steel. The user's use confirms that the curve function of the stability of fused calcium aluminate products with time is almost a straight line. It avoids many unsuitable phenomena in metallurgical production caused by wavy and zigzag curve functions of middle and low grade products (sintered products and cupola products).

Usage method:
When deoxidization is the main process, the ladle bottom is added directly before tapping; the amount of carbon added is determined by the carbon content of the molten steel at the end point, usually 4-6kg/1000kg steel; before tapping, ferromanganese, ferrosilicon and aluminium are added routinely; after tapping, ferromanganese, ferrosilicon are added routinely to the carbon structural steel without adding other alloys and aluminium feeding wires, and the ladle only needs argon blowing refining; after using the product, the carburizing agent (silicon carbide) is added. ) The dosage can be reduced by 30-50%.
When desulfurization is the main factor, the pre-added amount of the ladle bottom is 1/3 good, but it must be added to the impact position of the ladle bottom steel flow; with the outflow of the molten steel, the amount of 2/3 is added; the amount of 6-8kg/1000kg steel is used, depending on the original sulfur content of the molten steel and the use effect.

Scope of application:
It is mainly used in LF, open hearth and converter ladle refining to remove impurities such as sulphur and oxygen from molten steel and reduce the content of harmful elements and impurities in steel. It is suitable for ordinary carbon steel, high carbon steel, high and low alloy steel.
